Did God instruct Adam and his wife not to touch the fruit of the forbidden tree? Or was the woman presumptuous and ignorant in adding to God's word?
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Genesis 3:2-3
Did the woman lie when she said "God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."? Another way to ask the same question is, did the woman sin BEFORE touching and eating of the forbidden fruit?
Was Jesus presumptuous and ignorant in adding to God's word when he said: "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."?
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and TOUCH NOT the unclean thing; and I will receive you 2 Corinthians 6:17
So hath God said? YES, God did say: "Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die."
Do not believe the lies of Satan, do not despise God's messengers.
"Adam and Eve in Eden were noble in stature, and perfect in symmetry and beauty. They were sinless, and in perfect health. What a contrast to the human race now! Beauty is gone. Perfect health is not known. Every where we look we see disease, deformity and imbecility. I inquired the cause of this wonderful degeneracy, and was pointed back to Eden. The beautiful Eve was beguiled by the serpent to eat of the fruit of the only tree of which God had forbidden them to eat, or even touch it lest they die." (Spiritual Gifts, vol. 4a, Page 120)
